Caution- the pedestrian bridge is closed down because of a train derailment. Make sure it has reopened before planning to stay here on your trip!

Stopped by Harpers Ferry last month while on the C&O. Rooms over the Town’s Inn Tavern/Restaurant were available; the other building appeared to be shut down and “For Sale”.

Was going to stay at the Town’s Inn this trip; however they no longer offer the hostel style lodging for $33 a night. Everything has gone high-end B&B; $120 to $160 for a room. No thanks went up the hill to the Tea Horse Hostel instead for under fifty bucks!

Very quaint and charming place, however, I am sorry to report it has a bed bug infestation as of spring 2012. Best seek lodging else ware.

i wonder if I need to cancel, we are not going there until Sept and I had a lengthy chat with the owner who seems very nice and accomadating

Stayed at the Tea Horse Hostel in Harper's Ferry June 2012...was a hostel after all but very friendly, talkative group night I stayed. Beds clean w/mattresses covered in plastic, very friendly owner.

It is great to stay right in the heart of Harpers Ferry. Nice rustic inn-great restaurant. But you have to be able to carry your gear and bike up a stair case to get over the bridge--so be warned.

I hated this place... it was not clean. Shower curtain had mildew. Cobwebs at ceiling. Rugs had not been vacuumed. Windows dirty. Innkeeper was ditzy -- room wasn't ready. Gave me key to another room. That wasn't ready either. Ran out of several menu items in restaurant portion. Pepper shaker was sticky... the whole place just gave me the heebie jeebies and not because it was old.

As for the elevated walkway to get over to Harper's Ferry -- be very careful in the morning especially if it's dewy... I slipped and fell, even though I knew how slippery it was.
